When I walk in to visit my dad and I see him getting a hug or someone giving him a kiss or simply talking the time to rub him or greet him in a friendly, genuine way it just warms my heart. Even though my dad has dementia a couple of times he commented on how nice it was and how he liked it here. That reaffirmed what a loving, caring, kind facility it is. While it is hard to watch a loved one decline and become dependent on others for care it is wonderful to know that my dad is well cared for by nurturing and loving caregiving.
